Hello,

I wanted to install Windows on an USB drive so that I can use it on different computers. I heard about WinToUSB and gave it a try. At seventy five percent (with four retries) I get an error "Copy file failed.(0x0000008000B40000)". I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate onto a Kingston DataTraveller 3.0 (USB 3.0).

What can I do? I tried three times.

I appreciate any help.
Please send the "user.log" to me, it is located in the bin folder under the installation directory.

I couldn't upload it using the MyBB interface so I uploaded it to Box and the link is https://app.box.com/s/31ifc2hal24bn2v1wv1z

I am currently having this problem too when trying to install win7 x64 (professional) on my flash drive. Below is a link to my user file you requested

I am using a partitioned (NTFS format) Mushkin Ventura Ultra 120GB. Thanks for the software utility, and for the help!
It seems that the ISO file is incorrect, have you try another iso file?

Dear inkyvoyd,

If your problem is the same as mine, I would suggest downloading the official ISO file for Windows 7 Professional x64 SP directly from Microsoft using its CDN, digitalriver. The link is as follows: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-59186.iso.

Dear Admin,

I downloaded the ISO version from DigitalRiver and it works! I will now try to boot from the OS. Thanks for the help.

Is there anywhere in this thread where I can mark my question as solved?
