Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 64G SDCZ80-064G to install Windows 8.1 Pro - Igor - 05-20-2015

I have just bought a Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 64G SDCZ80-064G to install Windows 8.1 Pro.
I have tried with with WinToUSB V2.1 and with the patched VHD version, and there is no way to boot neither on my PC (Samsung NP740U3E-A01FR), nor on other PC (Example NUC Intel i5).

Could you give me some advice ?
Do I have to format the USB key first ?
-GPT or MBR ?
-FAT32 or NTFS ?
-create 2 partitions ?

Do I have to run WinToUSB on legacy mode or VHD mode (I have tried both, VHD with 32Go) ?

Thanks for your help.

You don't need to format the USB flash drive, WinToUSB will auto-format it and you need to run WinToUSB on VHD mode.

I have just re download and re installed the WinToUSB software.
Launch it, it has format the Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 64G SDCZ80-064G.
I have selected boot and system in the same NTFS partition, en VHD mode with indicated 14Go.
Installed and finish.
It doesn't work on my Samsung NP740, nor in the Intel NUC i5.

Any idea ?
Juste in case I'll give another try by mounting the Win 8.1 image.

Thanks

Hi admin
I have tried to re install twice : on ISO and from Original DVD, auto format on NTFS, VHD mode, 14GO.
It still doesn't work.

Do you have any advice ?
Thanks

Hi admin.
It works now.
On the bios, secure boot has to be configured on CMS and UEFI mode.

So :
1. Download and install WinToUSB latest version
2. Insert the Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 64G SDCZ80-064G
3. Select the needed OS (Win 8.1 Pro in this case)
4. Select San Disk Extreme
5. WinToUSB will auto format the key
6. Select the same boot and system partition created
7. Select VHD mode (in this case 14Go, I suppose it could be more).
8. On the key is installed, enter the Bios, select the USB key as first boot, and configured secure boot on CMS and UEFI mode.

Done !
