This seems to be an issue that I have not been able to conquer yet. Microsoft seem to have a restriction on updating Windows to Version 1607 Anniversary update with an external USB drive as system drive. Does anyone have any information on how to do this ?

kind regards

Martin

Yes, you are right. Upgrading Windows when it is booted from a USB drive is not supported, this is a limitation of Microsoft. Our product Windows To Go Upgrader can help upgrade your Windows To Go drive, but it is not free, for more information, please refer to:

What about installing the Win-10 AU 1607 ISO, which is a free download from Microsoft!?

Clean installing Windows directly from ISO don't have this limitation.
