As someone that likes to experiment I'm exploring the use of
cppcryptfs (an encryption file/folder app)

This app needs dokany as used by HBS.
I certainly don't want to mess up my great installation of HBS
but I'm unavailable to do an install of an updated dokany
to work with cppcryptfs since the installation identifies
the driver as already installed.

I know this is not strictly an HBS issue but if anyone has some ideas

Old ? Yep ! 64 y/o for 8 hours as I type this ! I am a newbie as if it isn't obvious! I am in the planning mode I am of the measure twice cut once mentality ! I have not installed the Free version or purchased version of Hasleo Disk Clone - YET. I will say this is not my first rodeo cloning disks as I have used utilities such as Crucial's Acronis True Image, which is free with their SSDs with great success !

My issue today is the following gleaned from a previous post in part that says I'm sorry that Hasleo Backup Suite/Disk Clone does not allow cloning of the Windows operating system or the disk it resides on to a USB drive, whether it is a USB flash drive or an external SSD/HDD USB drive- this was posted in a reply by an admin ! The post also mentions that this cannot be done with the free version as it is funded by purchases of other paid versions , which I fully understand as I am a capitalist !
Can anyone tell me if cloning from a 512GB NVME System Disk to a 1TB NVME in a USB attached enclosure is possible with the paid version ?

Groogle's AI assistant says it is butttttttt it seems to conflict with what the Admin said in the post I referenced above ! The only possible caveat being it is possible using the paid version ! If it matters I am doing this with a PC that is using WIN 11 Home and it is configured with 32GB Ram !
Can anyone confirm that Cloning a a 512GB NVME System Disk to a 1TB NVME in a USB attached enclosure is possible with the paid version of Hasleo Disk Clone or should I opt for a different tool ? There is no shortage of alternatives but simplicity is the entire idea about using computers NO ? and Hasleo Disk Clone appears to be quite simple in use ! Thanks in advance to all who reply OFWG

Hi am am kind new to this program, purchased a family package, but where I only like to work with bootable media I found some strange happenings.
When I am booted up with the "resque" and attempt to make a backup it wants to place it on C:\ = thats my Drive E: in real time !
So is this Normal ? It sure messes with my old head as Macrium and others show true drive letters. Been around for a long times on computers, MS dos / Vic20 / Commodore 64 etc.
Next question is with Command Line, I it gives me the same mix-up with C:\ = act E:\ in other words I cannot get the real C: boot drive ! it does not show up in the browser.
Like I said before, I only work with bootable media as the full HD install would get into my way.
Thank you for a great program I think, just have to get used to the "Latin" drive mixup ... ??

Hello,
I’ve been using a different backup tool for 10 years, but now I’ve got a new PC and found the Hasleo Backup tool. So far, I think the programme is really great. However, I do have a question:
After I’d done a full backup of my Windows drive and then spent another hour or two surfing the internet, I restored the backup for testing purposes. Everything was as it had been 2 hours earlier. Only my browser history still contained the links from a few minutes ago. These hadn’t been reset.
Is that normal?
Sorry for the English...
Nachdem ich ein komplett Backup meiner Windows Platte gemacht habe und anschliessend noch 1-2 Std. im Internet gesurft habe, spielte ich das backup zu testzwecken zurück.
@admin,

As you know, I have two computers. I only use one (my desktop) for my testing, so I always manually ensure that I am using the latest version of HBS, whether production or beta.

I was surprised today that on my laptop I received no notice that, or an upgrade button, to download and install the latest version: 5.6.2.1. My laptop had version 5.6.2.0 installed when I did my weekly imaging of it this week, and three weeks ago.

ETBH (paid) notifies me when a new version is available, as does Macrium 8 (paid) when I launch both programs.

I think that, at the very least, the HSBP product should offer the same capability. Users should not have to manually check for updates before starting imaging. That could be extended to the Free version (HBS), but I think it most certainly should be a feature of the paid Pro version (HBSP).

Just a suggestion. Have a great day.

I'm using the new "Perform a full backup after a specified number of backups" feature and whenever I change the number, it acts as if no incremental backups have been run yet and runs the new number of incrementals before a full backup. I expected it to remember how many incremental backups have been run already and only run the additional number of new incrementals. If the system has already run the new number of incrementals (or more), I would expect it to run a full backup next time.

For example, I had it set to 10, but after 4 incremental backups, I decided to change it to 7. When I did that, I expected it to run 3 more incremental backups (for a total of 7) and then a full backup. Instead, it ran 7 more incremental backups (for a total of 11). Since it knows that 4 have already been run, I think the expected behavior would be that it only runs the additional 3 incrementals, for a total of 7.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have done a system backup of c: drive which contains everything except my media files which are on E:

Most of my documents are in Dropbox and are saved directly in a Dropbox folder C:\Users\admin1\Dropbox\Documents

But when I look at the backup image using Restore>Browse Image to Restore>File Mode

I can see Users>admin1 but do not see the Dropbox folder, I think everything else is there in the backup, normal document folder for example but the Dropbox folders are not.

Obviously they are backed up to the cloud with Dropbox anyway, but why can't I see the local copy? Thanks

No free (partial) Restore into same disk as backup image possible?

I have a SSD with multiple partitions on it:

1. EFI partition
2. Windows 10 system partition
3. large Data partition
4. Recovery partition

In the past I gave Hasleo Backup Suite a try and performed a System Backup of partitions 1 + 2 + 4 but not 3
I store the .dbi file on partition 3 beside all my other stuff like videos, photos and more.

Now I have exactly the situation that I need to use and restore this image file.
So I booted Hasleo Backup Suite from USB flash drive and tried to restore the HBS image.

Much to my surprise HBS forces me to enable "Advanced" to specify what exactly to restore.
Why does HBS not auto-recognize the 3 previously backupped partitions in *.dbi archive?

Even worse: When I enabled "Advanced" Mode HBS informs me that I can only restore full disks in "Free" version but not a subset of partitions.

What is this?
very bad

Assume I copy the .dbi archive to an external USB flash drive and restore it from there:
Does that really mean that if I restore the full disk from external .dbi then partition 3 will be destroyed?
I cannot believe this

Normally "free" versions of imaging tools restrict backup (!) process (like no encryption) but allow FULL (!) restore.
HBS "Free" is completely useless since restore is not possible in scenarios like mine.
This restriction should be mentioned in a central location before persuade users to evaluate HBS.

Thank goodness I performed an Acronis Trueimage backup in the past too.
So I was save.
