Hi !
I've been using HBS free for 1 year now and for me it was mostly set it and forget it.
Saved me a few times though !
A few days ago I noticed I had no notification about HBS.... Had a look at the log and for sure there were a bunch of errors. Starting october 1st, without any obvious pattern, I started getting the following :
[
attachment=781]
Task is supposed to start dayly at 3:30am, there is NO error in windows events log.
Restarting the computer and manually starting the task works just fine.
I don't know which version of HBS it started with (if it's even related !). What I know is that I had this problem with 5.5.2.0 and upgrading to 5.5.2.1 hasn't changed anything.
Any help would be greetly appreciated.
Daniel.

OK... I did what was suggested by the team (excluded HBS in AV) with no luck.
I backup to a LOCAL drive and I wondered if maybe it was stopped and needed to wake up...
When I try manual backup, I hear the drive spin up... and still get the error.
I stop the processes, close HBS, retry (a few times), then without any apparent reason... it works !
For those interested, I've come up with a solution.
It doesn't solve the original problem (which in my opinion is a dev problem), but allows me to "forget" about HBS activities.
About 1/2 hour before my HBS task is schedule to run, I run a task in windows that stops HasleoBackupSuiteService, waits for 15mn and start HasleoBackupSuiteService. The backup task is then handled by the service and... success every time !
It's worked flawlessly for nearly a month now so I wanted to share it.

Daniel.
@Daniel.0123,
Thank you for reporting back. I am glad to hear that you have resolved your problem. I am though mystified that such a task should be necessary ... ?
I confess that I never use scheduled backups; I always manually initiate my full disk partition images. You do say that you can hear the LOCAL drive spin up when you manually initiate an image task. What is the LOCAL drive? Is it an internal HDD/SSD or an external HDD/SSD? I ask because my internal primary HD backup drive is always "On" as is my external USB HD secondary backup drive after I plug it in, so I never hear them "spin up."
Have you tested both the Source and External drives for possible faults using diagnostic software and run a CHKDSK on both drives?
I would expect other reports in these Forums IF the HBSP scheduling component was buggy.
What OS are you using? How often is your computer restarted? Is hibernation enabled? Have you run SFC and DISM scans of your OS drive?
There are many possible explanations for what you encountering. I am simply curious to know more about the issue. I always seek to learn.
Have a great day, and again, I am happy that you got it working, but I am eager to figure out WHY your "solution" is necessary ...
Regards,
Phil
This issue is very strange. The log files provided to us earlier by Daniel.0312 do not contain the log file generated by the Hasleo Backup Suite backup service program (BackupService.exe). If the problem persists, we should conduct a more in-depth analysis to resolve it.

Set the startup type for the HasleoBackupSuiteService service to Manual. It will start as you described, only it can be simplified, or when you start HBS manually.
