We carefully tracked the code, and the username and password passed to the Windows user programming interface are correct, so the issue appears to be a bug in Windows. Strangely, using the command 'net use' with the test (user) fails on our side.

Hmm, that’s odd. Maybe it has to do with the SMB protocol that is used or maybe even with the Windows version itself. But nevertheless: I’ve never seen someone use brackets in a user name so this sort of bug is very special.

In my opinion the easiest fix would be to just use a decent user name to prevent such strange errors.
