Windows RE tools partition - xeroid - 09-03-2025 When starting a new task for performing a system backup, the Windows RE tools partition isn't selected. Is it best practice to include that partition, or just leave it deselected? Thanks RE: Windows RE tools partition - admin - 09-03-2025 If the recovery partition is not selected by Hasleo Backup Suite, it usually means that this partition is not the true recovery partition for Windows. Please run reagentc /info to check to see if the partition is the true recovery partition for your Windows? Please provide a screenshot of the Windows Disk Management that includes the disk where the partition is located. And we need to know if there are any boot entries in the BCD file that point to this partition, please follow the steps below to send us the bcd.txt file. 1. Run cmd.exe as a administrator 2. Run "bcdedit /enum all /v >> C:\bcd.txt" 3. Send C:\bcd.txt to us Thanks. I have 2 machines and I just realized that my primary PC does not show the Windows RE partition, while I was being quick to reply, I was grabbing the data and screen shots from the primary instead of the other machine. I will send you the info from the PC that does show the partition. Thanks, so HBS is able to correctly select the recovery partition on this computer? Once again, I apologize. No, this is the PC that it doesn't select the recovery partition. The attached screen shot is from when I just now selected to do a new backup and you can see that it doesn't select the recovery partition. The last two partitions on this disk are both recovery partitions, while only one entry in the BCD points to the penultimate partition, which is why the last partition is not automatically selected. Windows should only have one recovery partition, so the last one should not exist. |
