Windows Point-inTime Restore - Froggie - 11-24-2025

Brand new feature of Windows 11 in their DEV and BETA channels called Point-in-Time Restore...

Finally, after that miserable failure during Windows 7... MicroSloth decides to take on imaging (although limited) once again. Do I expect them to be reasonably good at this... maybe. Imaging applications have been doing this wonderfully for over 10+ years now... I think the method is well understood.

Will it affect existing imaging application's marketing positions... not sure. People who currently DO NOT IMAGE their machines will be very interested (and there are many of them)... especially if it's easy.

Seems nothing more than a full throttled SYSTEM RESTORE with scheduled IntraDaily options and a few days of total RollBack capability.

We'll see, I guess...

I'll stick with Hasleo.

It could be of benefit for people who don't image and as was said, there are lots of them. I often tell people about the benefits of imaging and the common response is a blank look. Now if I had said this works with Facebook or similar it might have been a different response.
It appears to suffer from the same risk that imaging with Hasleo or other imaging programs to a different partition on the OS disk is useless if the whole disk dies since the points are stored on it. Maybe they can be placed elsewhere?
I'd day this feature is really souped-up System Restore and not the best way to make disk images but will help some users.
