Cant find Dropbox documents in System Backup

Hi,

I have done a system backup of c: drive which contains everything except my media files which are on E:

Most of my documents are in Dropbox and are saved directly in a Dropbox folder C:\Users\admin1\Dropbox\Documents

But when I look at the backup image using Restore>Browse Image to Restore>File Mode

I can see Users>admin1 but do not see the Dropbox folder, I think everything else is there in the backup, normal document folder for example but the Dropbox folders are not.

Obviously they are backed up to the cloud with Dropbox anyway, but why can't I see the local copy? Thanks

Hello - Besides the system backup I do a file backup of Dropbox files. It is very quick and I have that separate.

Thanks, so its correct that the Dropbox files are not in the System Backup? Are there any other types not included in System Backup also?

I'm doing as you suggested and making a File Backup of the entire Dropbox folder, just in case.

The Dropbox folder may not actually be stored on the local hard drive, but rather in the cloud, with only a directory link (placeholder) remaining locally. It should be noted that system/disk backup images have certain limitations when restoring files in file mode, such as not supporting NTFS link mechanisms (e.g., symbolic links, directory junctions, etc.). Therefore, we recommend that you mount the backup image and directly check whether the Dropbox folder contents are included.

Of course, backing up your Dropbox folder using file backup is the method we recommend.
