Hasleo Backup hangs system
#1
Good day!

I encountered a situation.
I make a backup of the system disk and the program consistently hangs the system at 7-8%.
If I make a backup via WinPE, then everything works fine. That is, there are no errors on the disk.
Maybe the problem is in shadow copying?

Win10 x64 Home, HBS 5.2.2

Everything works stably on other computers.

We have not encountered this situation before. Do you mean the system is completely unresponsive?

Repeated backup creation.
At 7% the progress indicator stops working. According to the task manager, it is clear that the disk is being exchanged and the elapsed time is counting down.
If you try to open the Start menu during the backup process, the explorer hangs. (This is not observed on other systems).
However, if you wait, the backup creation will be completed.

Sorry for my English.

Ivan, can you give us your System specs (CPU, ram size, disk config (hdd, SSD)?

As Froggie hinted, the issue may be related to your computer's performance. And have you set the backup priority to the highest priority?

The configuration of computer:

Intel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz
MB B75M-D2V
RAM 16 Gb
SSD ADATA SU650 - 240 Gb (system drive)
SATA ST3250820AS - 250 Gb (for save backup)

Win10 x64 Home, HBS 5.2.2

Priority of HBS by default (Normal), compression - High

Have you tried other compression levels? I recommend using low or medium compression levels.

Tried at medium compression level.
Also at 7% the indicator froze and the explorer does not respond.

I removed the task via task manager and the explorer came to life.

Similar behavior at low compression level

Does the issue still persist when using a lower process priority for backup?

I'm setting low priority, medium compression ratio.
The progress indicator also freezes by 7%.
When you click on Start, Explorer freezes and task manager stops updating its data.
After a while, the countdown of the elapsed time comes to life. (The Task manager is not responding).
The program consumes about 30% of the CPU. About 13 minutes later, the task manager came to life.

After 20 minutes, the backup was completed and the system returned to working condition.

I think the problem is with windows, because on the other 8 computers on the network, the program does not interfere with the system.
