Thank you for providing such detailed and important information, especially regarding Trustpilot's user verification process. Most users probably don't pay attention to whether a reviewer is verified. I didn't even notice it myself. Moreover, most users are unlikely to spend 30 minutes on that process since they just want to express their opinions.
Trustpilot doesn't create content itself. It lets users generate the content. Negative reviews force businesses to respond, and Trustpilot then offers paid tools that allow businesses to invite more users to leave reviews in order to get more positive feedback. This almost forms a perfect closed loop business model. For Trustpilot, without negative content, there would be no incentive for businesses to pay. Perhaps this is the real reason Trustpilot is unwilling or doesn't actively verify the authenticity of user reviews. This is just my personal opinion.
