I did a quick search and couldn't find a recent comment about this topic, hope I'm not spamming
Version 5.6.2.1 Free on Windows 11 Pro
1. So I created an Emergency Disk. When selecting a destination drive / key, it gives a drive number, followed by the hardware name and then the size.
Since you're going to format that drive, the drive number doesn't cut it. you ABSOLUTELY need to give the drive letter. Imagine formatting the wrong drive!!!
2. This might be a limitation of WinPE but once formatted, my 64GB is listed as having ~30GB total size. Nothing dramatic but you're loosing 50% of the available space.
(I verified. It IS a microsoft limitation LOL)
Now let's go to the system backup screen, backup options.
3. Since (ideally) you put the backup file on the USB drive, you need to split it in 4096mb chunks. If you select "FAT32 - 4096" and press OK ... then go back in the backup option menu, it reverts back to "CD-650" no matter what you select. If you proceed with a backup, Hasleo proceeeds with one monololithic file anyways.
The solution is to select "Custom size" instead and type "4096". Since I don't like living on the edge "4000" is fine and does the job for me.
4. Maybe it's me but the compression level and splitting values should be the program's general preferences.
5. I was wondering if it was possible to have Hasleo show the recovery screen and preload the proper backup file from the command line?
So far I'm impressed by this program and given a bit of polish it can be turned into a real winner.
Also kudos for the price. At 30$ I'm thinking of making it a required software for any machine that I assemble and sell.
