Tech Discussion: Inability to Modify Secure Boot and Boot Order After System Restore
#11
@garioch7,

Thank you so much for your encouragement and kind words.

You are absolutely right. Having worked in technical for so many years, I should know better than to let a few difficult cases affect my mood. But sometimes, when you sincerely take the time to explain the technical principles and offer solutions, only to have your efforts completely ignored or dismissed, it's hard not to feel a little disheartened.

However, both you and @AdvancedSetup have reminded me of a very important truth: there will always be users we simply cannot reach, and that's okay. What truly matters is the vast majority of users who are willing to listen and appreciate our work, they are the reason we keep striving. Receiving recognition from experienced professionals like you and AdvancedSetup means a great deal to me.

Thank you again, Phil. Have a great day!

Best regards

I have been following this thread with interest, but have not been impacted by any of the difficulties that reported by others. Below are the test results, timing, and file sizes:

OS running Win11 25H2 26200.8737, Secure Boot enabled, Cert 2011 revoked, HBS V5.8.2.2
Normal Full backup (4 partitions) of laptop over WiFi6E (rated as 1201/146 Mbps) to target PC, ~20 minutes
OS on disk was 76.65 GB, and backup was 35.9 GB (compression high)
Copy the backup to an external SSD from target PC, ~6 minutes
Do some browsing & emails on the PC, and moved winpe.iso from \bin to C:\
Initiated a restore of the Full backup from HBS in Windows (Delta restore
~2 minutes to start and reboot into Recovery environment. Complete restore from Boot Menu, ~2 minutes
Reboot was normal with no security of boot order issues
OS on disk was no 75.4 GB

I am very pleased with the smooth process, and Delta restore is amazing.

Many thanks to the HBS team for a great reliable product.
