HBS 5.8.2.0 - Changing partition size with retaining BitLocker doesn't work
#1
Hey,

I might've found a small error with the restoring process of BitLocker encrypted partitions.

If you boot from WinPE and try to restore a backup that contains a BitLocker encrypted partition, you now have the chance to retain the BitLocker encryption:

If you tick that box and try to resize the C: partition, this won't work though. I could only reduce the size by 1 MB:

If I go back and uncheck the "Retain BitLocker encryption" checkbox, I can freely resize the partition:

Is there a reason or technical limitation for that? Or is this just a small GUI error that prevents me from resizing?

Thanks,

Since the metadata of a BitLocker partition is fully encrypted, I don't know how HBS could do much of anything in the way of partition mgmt (which it really has to do when resizing).  Just a thought...
