@Mongoo,

The free version of the Hasleo Backup Suite will backup and restore Windows 11.  The core features of the Free version are the same as the Pro version, with exception of the fact that purchasing a Pro Version helps fund future development, and also has enhancements to allow it to be used with commercial versions of Windows like Windows LTSC, and other future enhancements.

I invite you to try Hasleo Backup Suite Free to see if it meets your needs.  Later on, you can decide if you want the additional Pro features and/or to support future development of this already first-in-class backup program.

Have a great day.

Phil

Hi and welcome to the Hasleo forums!

I moved your question into your own thread because it's not directly related to the release thread. That way it's easier to follow Wink

As @garioch7 already pointed out, the Free edition of Hasleo Backup Suite includes all the core features needed to reliably back up and restore your Windows.

The Home edition and Pro edition come with additional features that you might or might not need and you help support the development of this great piece of software.

Please have a look at this comparison chart to see the differences in detail:
https://www.easyuefi.com/backup-software...rison.html

Some of the additional features of the Home edition:
  • Custom backup filters: Allows you to exclude files or folders from your image backup. This can be useful if you have huge folders that you don't need in your backup.
  • Deduplication for file backups: This can greatly reduce your file backup if you have lots of similar files.
  • System/Disk/Partition cloning: The Free edition doesn't support cloning a system drive, all other editions do.
  • Delta Clone: If you often clone drives/partitions, this can greatly speed up the progress, because you only need to sync the changes.
  • Full BitLocker support: The Free edition doesn't support preserving BitLocker encryption after a restore so you need to reencrypt your drive. Home and Pro edition do.
  • Restore/Clone to USB: Home and Pro edition support restoring or cloning to USB drives as well.
  • Windows Education and Enterprise editions are supported besides Windows Home/Pro.
Some additional features of the Pro edition:
  • Command line support: The Pro edition also supports command line, so you can run/check your schedules from external tools/scripts via command line.
  • Business usage: Commercial use is explicitly allowed with the Pro edition or higher.
Hope that helps!

Cheers,

@Mongoo, welcome to the Hasleo Forums! And thanks again to our moderators for their helpful replies.

As everyone has pointed out, the Free version already covers the daily backup and restore needs of most home users.

Of course, if you need more advanced features or plan to use the software in a commercial environment, we also offer the Home and Pro editions for you to choose from. Upgrading not only gives you access to additional functionality, but also means a great deal of support for our development efforts, we truly appreciate it!

If you have any questions while using the software, feel free to post here. Enjoy using Hasleo Backup Suite!

Potentially moving from Macrium, Win 11 system.  I will want the ransomware protection feature when it becomes available. As far as I can tell, the only feature difference between Professional over Home versions at the moment is the command line interface, so no point for me in going to it unless that changes. What I need to know: will ransomware protection be included in the home version also?

@MDavid,

Welcome to the Hasleo Forums.  At this time, Hasleo Image Protection has been implemented in the initial Version 6 Alpha releases.  My understanding, and I might be corrected, is that this feature will only be included in paid versions of the Hasleo Backup Suite.  Which paid versions, I do not know.  That has not been asked before.

Our Forum Administrator, @admin, participates in the Hasleo Forums daily, even on the weekend.  There is a large time difference between where I am in Canada, and China.  Nevertheless, @admin should be checking in and respond to your question within 12 hours of the time of this post.

Once again, welcome, and thank you for considering the Hasleo Backup Suite as your backup solution.  I am a former MR8 paid Home user as well, and several versions before that, but I balked at the subscription-based MRX backup software.  I came to Hasleo, and I have zero regrets.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

@ garioch7

Thanks for the response. I will be asking a question, but first:  I'm having some trouble figuring out how to use the forum. When I hit reply, I an entry field with the full message I'm responding to. Am I supposed to just add my response below it (as I'm doing here)?  Also do I have to enter the @WhoeverI'mReplyingTo or does that automatically get added by the system?  Finally, I tried entering something and hitting preview to see if I could answer the questions for myself, but when I did that, I couldn't find a way to return to the message I has in the middle of. Is there an option I missed?

Hi,

You can use the reply button to get the full message, yes. But usually this is only helpful if you cut out  parts you're not going to reply to. Like I'm using it right now. I copied the parts I want to reply to, which helps understanding what I'm referring to.

If you're just answering to the latest post, I personally wouldn't include the message in my reply, just for the sake of clarity.

It's not added by the system automatically and you also don't have to use that. It's just a common way to direct your text at someone Wink

If you hit preview, you get a direct preview of your message as it would be shown in the thread. Below that you should find your editor text box again with the same text, so you can continue with your writing. In theory you can go back with the browser buttons but I wouldn't recommend that. Worst case is, you'll get an error message and can't continue your text.

I sometimes just open another tab and open the full thread there if I really need to look something up while still editing my text. But that's maybe just me.

Hope that helps! Big Grin
