  Digital Signature Error
Posted by: XDumbnBassX - 03-19-2018, 11:15 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

I just bought a license and I'm using the latest version of Win2USB. I tried to make a WinToGo VHDX ( Bios & UEFI boot ) from a Windows 8.1 installation ISO on a SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD ( It's a huge flash drive, not a regular harddrive. )

Everything says it went fine, but when I reboot I get a bluescreen telling me "Your PC needs to be repaired. The operating system couldn't be loaded because the digital signature of a file couldn't be verified. File: \Windows\System32\drivers\WinToUSBDisk.sys Error code: 0xc0000428"

  Error 0x0057000900290000 WintoUSB
Posted by: user845 - 03-01-2018, 10:34 PM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

Hi!
I've trying to clone a Win10 (1709, 16299.248) system on a surface book to a USB drive. I've tried both, USB flash drive (Corsair Hyperx Savage 512 GB) or Samsung T3 1TB external USB SSD.
Using the USB flash drive, WintoUSB was able to build the partitions itself, with the external hdd if just followed the descriptions as given in the manual: system partition fat32 e.g. 100 MB, boot partition NTFS to boot into UEFI system.
Starting the win os (current) to usb, alls works fine, the drive and partitions are recognized by wintousb, legacy method selected (btw what is the advantage of VHD mode?), then confirmed that all data will be lost on that drive and process started. first time, the winpe files are installed, in subsequent approaches already present. Then a reboot is requested from wintousb. works fine, boots into the wintousb software and starts to clone.
Then after a few seconds, an error messages pops up "nicht unterstütztes dateisytem" not supported file system error 0x0057000900290000 and wintousb exists.
This is the same, if I use the flash drive with partitions created by wintousb or the external SSD.
So, any advice what I can do to come out of this?
THANKS!!!! best wishes....

Hi,
im having troubled running wintoHDD and i get the following error message.
im using a MacPro with a VMware Virtual Machine on Windows 10 Pro that was installed using an ISO.
i want to install Windows on a internal HDD because for some reason Bootcamp doesnt restart properly with my CD.
I added the IDE drive to the virtual machine so i can see it and format it in the Virtual Windows 10 part.
The HDD is on SATA and on GPT. it has an EFI partition on MS-DOS FAT32 and a boot partition with 900gb on NTFS.
im getting the above error message and cannot continue. ive also tried to reformat the drive but it didnt help.
any help?

  No Bootable Device
Posted by: HansPeter - 02-22-2018, 05:59 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (2)

Dear Hasleo Team and Fellow WinToUSB Users,

I have got a rather strange problem:

I successfully installed Windows 8.1 Pro onto a Samsung Fit 128GB USB. I intend to use this as a bootable on the go Windows drive.
I installed all necessary drivers with BootCamp and got to run Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Pro 13" Late 2013 (retina).

Now to the problem: Everytime I shut down the MacBook Pro and try to boot (MBR) from the Samsung fit again I get the "no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key" message right at the startup.
BUT! when I then try to boot from the same USB drive on my iMac 27" Late 2012 (FusionDrive) I can successfully boot Windows. After shutting down from my iMac, going back to my MacBook I can boot as well on my MacBook Pro. But when I shut down on my MacBook and try to reboot I am again prompted with the "no bootable device" message. WTF?!

I am pretty clueless about what to do next. I tried reinstalling Windows 8.1 and got the same result.

Just to sum up my problem:

Boot from USB on MacBook Pro --> no bootable device

Boot from USB on iMac --> Windows boot perfectly

Boot from USB on MacBook right after iMac boot --> Windows boot perfectly

Boot from USB on MacBook again after shutting down --> no bootable device

I do not want to EFI boot (cause that doesn't work unless you shut down system integrity)
The Windows Installation does completely work on said MacBook

I am very very thankful for every advice you can give me!

Getting error while trying to make a Windows USB
Posted by: syrenity - 02-18-2018, 08:13 PM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (3)

Trying to use the free version in order to make a Windows USB, getting the following error:
The free/trial version does not support Windows / Server systems.

I've downloaded the image with the Windows 10 Media Creation tool, so it should be a regular desktop version.

  From where is the bootloader?
Posted by: theuserbl - 02-12-2018, 12:57 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

Where comes the Bootloader comes from and under what license is it?

WinToUSB writes an Bootloader to the USB-stick which for example loads the VHD or VHDX. And the legacy option creates an bootloader, too.

Is this bootloader © Microsoft, © Hasleo Software or © of anybody other?
And under what license is the Bootloader?

Greetings
