Bitlocker Anywhere
#1
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this:
A couple of days ago I came across "bitlocker anywhere" by a company called "Hasleo", that offers bitlocker encryption for Win 10 home. It seems tempting as a quick and cheap alternative to upgrading to win 10 pro. But is it legit? It has only recently been released and has no reviews by any independent sources as far as I can tell. My gut feeling is to stay clear and pursue a win 10 pro upgrade. Does anyone have any other thoughts, or know anything about this software?

Hasleo BitLocker Anywhere is not new software. The first version of Hasleo BitLocker Anywhere was released in 2018, and it is the world's first third-party BitLocker solution for Windows Home. Please refer to the change log:
https://www.easyuefi.com/bitlocker-anywh...-spec.html

We didn't do the thing of cracking Windows, we just encrypted the disk data using the BitLocker encryption algorithm we implemented, so we don't think there's a legal issue. And unless Microsoft does not allow software to write to the disk. If you are worried about these, you can consider upgrading Windows 10  Home to the Pro version.

I am unable to install the "HasleoBitLockerAnywhere.pkg" on my Mac because the software is not validly signed or could not be verified by Apple. Can you help?

Please go to your Mac’s System Preferences, open Privacy & Security window > General pane, and allow the application to run.

There is nor "Open Anyway" button to allow the installation. Do you have a signed and notarized version of the pkg-file?

I'm very sorry, we are just a small development team and haven't applied for a signing certificate.

Please try the following steps to see if the problem persists.

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Press and hold the power button until you see the startup options.
3. Select Options, then click Continue. Enter your Mac’s password if required, then select your Mac’s startup disk if necessary.

4. Once inside Recovery mode, you’ll see a list of options. You can ignore these and go to Utilities > Startup Security Utility in the menu bar instead.

5. Click the Security Policy button.
6. Choose "Reduced Security" and enable "Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers" to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

And please go to your Mac’s System Preferences, open Privacy & Security window > General pane, and allow the application to run.

If it still fails, please try the following methods:
Method 1:
1. Locate the .pkg file in Finder.
2. Hold down the Control key and click (or right-click) the file, then select "Open" from the menu.
3. A new warning window may appear, but there will be an "Open" button. Click it to try bypassing the one-time check.

Method 2:
1. Open Terminal.
2. Enter the following command and press Enter.
sudo spctl --master-disable
3. Enter your administrator password.
4. Try installing the .pkg file again.
5. After the installation is complete, it is strongly recommended to immediately re-enable full protection:
sudo spctl --master-enable

Suddenly, the "Open Anyway" button appeared in my settings and I was able to install the tool. Now I'm going to test it for 15 days and then I'll be happy to buy it. So far, everything is working great... thank you very much!!!
