Fix seems to work, there are no more new shortcuts.
I see you also implemented the deletion of that wrong shortcut (or maybe this is the actual workaround currently). Would it be possible to check if that shortcut really points to BackupSystemTray.exe and only then delete it? That would eliminate a possible problem in case someone manually adds a HBS shortcut to their start menu. I don't know how many people actually customize their start menu though.
