Hasleo Backup Suite V5.4.2.0 Released!
Confirming that the build downloaded from https://www.easyuefi.com/backup-software...e_Free.exe is seen by Windows Security (Win 11 Pro, x64) as a threat and blocks its running entirely, without allowing to set it as an exception. This has never happened with Hasleo installers before. There must be something the system reads as a threat. Have a look at it.

What's new in this version:
1. Added backup image delete feature

Without testing (haven't installed yet), I have a question.  Is this just a simple DELETE function (will break the chain if deletion in the middle) or is it a SMART DELETE function where if the function breaks the chain, the deletion process includes any "children" images that are dependent on the deleted file?  And if it is SMART, will it tell the user first if it will be deleting more than what they ask for?

Thanks for any info on this.

The delete command will delete any file associated with that task, provided you tick that option to do so on the popup. That could be dangerous. Having a bit more of a precise approach, a smart delete function like froggy suggested, would be nice.

It is smart and will guarantee that the backup chain will not be broken. For example, if you choose to delete a differential backup, all incremental backups that depend on that differential backup are automatically selected.

The installation package is not digitally signed, so it is likely to be blocked by antivirus software, and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.

This is a false positive, please refer to:

I'm officially retarded. I was assuming the action "delete" menu option. I was wrong. I see the tools > delete image option now.

Two ways to call up the feature:
"Tools"=>"Delete Image"
or
On the home page, click the "Actions" button for a task, then click "Manage Image" => "Delete Image".

I just saw 2 translation issues with German that I think are worth mentioning:

In the image action menu:
- Manage Image -> Bild verwalten
- Delete Image -> Bild löschen

"Bild" should be changed to "Image" or "Abbild" (just like with "Merge Image" -> "Image zusammenführen").
"Bild" means picture which is not the right context for backup images.

Then another weird thing I randomly saw:
- The upper right menu has the menu entry "Save log file" (or "Log-Datei sichern" in German).
- But when you change languages, the menu shows "Save logs" (or "Logs sicheren" [should be "sichern" btw.]) until you restart the app.

So there's probably something wrong with the text replacement.

I don't get any notifications in the notification center for starting or finishing jobs with Windows 11 since this recent update.
Is there something wrong with notifications? Can this be toggled somewhere?

Apart from this: Another great update, thank you so much! Keep up the good work!  Smile

Thank you, sir!

I would make the following suggestion... when you CHECK (for deletion), currently all "children" associated with that selection (FULL or DIFF) are selected as well AND when unselected, all associated children as unselected as well... very good implementation!  BUT when this is done by selecting an INCREMENTAL, all incrementals that are "children" of the selection are also selected... that's good.  But when the original selected INCREMENTAL is unselected, all automatically selected "children" of that image remain selected.  Now I understand your logic here..,. automatically selected "children" of the originally selected INCREMENTAL remain selected because they don't get affected by the original unCHECK operation, but their cleanup from reversing the original selection is basically a mess... all originally automatic selected "children" remain selected and can only be unselected with manual unCHECKs on the automatically children.  This is truly messy if your INC chains are of any real length (mine are 7-day by 12-hourly).

What should be done is any action that's automatically added by a selected DELETE operation, should be removed when that selected DELETE operation is unCHECKed.  This produces a clean SETUP when a single image is selected for deletion, and a complete reversal if that decision is reversed (which it will be if the user accidentally selected the wrong image like I did Dodgy ).  Sure would save a lot of unCHECKing operations.
