Disk Clone
#1
I have a notebook and I am trying to clone my ssd to another ssd connected via usb. Is it possible? I can't connect it directly to the motherboard since there no entry for that.

You can try the following version of Hasleo Backup Suite to clone Windows to USB or try Hasleo WinToUSB.

Ok, thank you for the answer. I have another doubt, my intention is to replace my old ssd by the new one in the note, that's why I was trying to use the Disk Clone. Once I had it copied I will replace the ssd in the motherboard.

By reading the WinToUSB description, I had the impression that it is for a different purpose. Could I clone my system using WinToUSB and then replace the old ssd in the note by this cloned one?

You shouldn't use a portable Windows disk created with WinToUSB directly as an internal disk, you should convert the portable Windows drive to an internal disk before putting the it into the laptop, and here's the tutorial:

hello,

We made a presentation and tutorial on the sites and forums

https://www.malekal.com/hasleo-backup-su...s-windows/
https://www.malekal.com/hasleo-backup-su...e-windows/

https://forum.malekal.com/viewtopic.php?p=549394

But when testing the cloning solution, this is impossible if the target SSD is in USB
It's the same thing with Hasleo Backup Suite Free (same message : use WinToUSB) and WinToUSB does not allow cloning to an SSD drive either only on a USB Stick (not the same thing) or WinToGo (SSD). It's not a real clone

This is not specified in the descriptions and for WinToUSB we do not see it in the pro version either.

You said "WinToUSB does not allow cloning to an SSD drive either only on a USB Stick", are you sure you have tested or used that software? Cloning or installing Windows to a USB drive and then running Windows from the USB drive are the main features of WinToUSB.

You should know that Hasleo Disk Clone and Hasleo Backup Suite are free backup and cloning software, and the feature of cloning Windows to a USB drive conflicts with one of the main features of WinToUSB. We mainly rely on revenue from other software to support the continued development of Hasleo Disk Clone and Hasleo Backup Suite , so the feature of cloning Windows to a USB drive has been restricted in Hasleo Disk Clone and Hasleo Backup Suite.

Hope everyone can understand.

Rereading what I wrote, it's not clear....

We've tested, WinUSB and we also tried to find a solution with Clone disk

This is the error message that is indicated with Clone Disk and Backup Free :
"This program does not support cloning to USB Flash Drive, please try our other product WinToUSB to clone Windows to USB Flash Drive"

This is a generic error message since the test was not with a USB key but... with an SSD Sata with cable (USB)

So :
- USB Key it's OK
- SSD via USB don't work

With WinUSB :
- USB Key it's OK
______

https://forum.malekal.com/viewtopic.php?...37#p549537

Limitation
Cloning to a USB device is only possible if the disk to be cloned does not support a running Windows system.

Procedure

After creation and booting on the USB key rescue media, you can clone the internal disk supporting the Windows installation
via USB on another external medium because the Windows to be cloned is OFF.

Conclusion
Given the free software (and its other functions) I accept this passage via the rescue media for system cloning

I'm sorry that Hasleo Backup Suite/Disk Clone does not allow cloning of the Windows operating system or the disk it resides on to a USB drive, whether it is a USB flash drive or an external SSD/HDD USB drive.

Yes, Hasleo Backup Suite/Disk Clone cannot be used to clone Windows to a USB drive, as we mentioned earlier.
