Newbie - backup before win11 update + restore

Actually I have around 580GB free space on my external drive (a 1 TB drive with 340GB used), and yes C + E used space is around 760GB.
Can you see how much space is needed for the different compression levels? I assume if there's not enough space it won't start the backup.

With System backup is that just the OS or will it also back up my files and everything else on C? Its my files that I want to make sure are safe during the Win 11 upgrade.

Thanks.

I'm sorry I can't tell you how much storage you'll need in the end, because it's related to the data you're going to back up (some files are already compressed, such as jpg, and the compression rate for backing up these data will be low), so you'll need to try.

System Backup backs up all the data in Windows-related partitions (System, Boot and Recovery partitions), so your files stored in the C: drive will be backed up.
