Old user ... Upset and angry Win7 and Win10 User
#1
I have a couple of win10 laptops and win7 desktops.

About 18 months ago I installed Hasleo Disk management suite on a Win7 DESKTOP and a Win7 Laptop

all those devices now tell me, whether connected to the Internet or not, that the suite is old and needs upgrading and I am refused service. How do you manage to BYPASS the lack of Internet connection on a device with no WIFI and NO RJ45 cable connected to the PC for over a year??? It's used only for time consuming activities like backing up my Photo collection of the last 25 years and occasional HDD diagnosis!

I upgraded my win 10 installation with the intention of cloning the hdd to an ssd, the ssd I put in a sata to USB caddy ... but I was refused that service too!

Another failure .. I do not want to have a bootable Win10 USB drive (i ALREADY HAVE ONE made 18months ago on a Stupid HP Stream with a 32GB eMMC soldered onboard drive) .. I want to have a bootable internal sata III drive.
I cannot clone it because that requires a second slot for an internal SATA drive, that is not available.
I  thought to clone it using spare SATA connections on my isolated WIN7 DESKTOP but this idea was thwarted when, instead of opening up the Suite ... it posted the same message saying the installation needs to be upgraded ... in spite of not having been connected to the internet for the last year.

I found hasleo because I followed a thread on a forum that recounted how Hasleo and the forum had worked together to fix and remove bugs, add meaningful, useful code to help make the app what it was to become ...
i found I could clone a drive from hdd to ssd by using my desktop to create an image and then restore that image to a new drive for my laptop ... but it seems that I can no longer do that because The app only supports Win8 and above and i HAD INSTALLED IT ON 7 ... THE ONLY DEVICE I own with more than 2 SATA connectors ... that is perfectly capable of cloning the drives and also keeping a drive image in backup.

The lifespan of early versions is limited, the main purpose is to hope that users will update to the new version as soon as possible, because we don't have much time and manpower to deal with the problems of the old versions. We have removed this restriction in the new version. You should know that Hasleo Backup Suite are free backup and cloning software, and the feature of restoring/cloning Windows to a USB drive conflicts with one of the main features of WinToUSB. We mainly rely on revenue from other software to support the continued development of Hasleo Backup Suite, so the feature of restoring/cloning Windows to a USB drive has been restricted in Hasleo Backup Suite. If you have to clone via USB, you may need the paid version of Hasleo Disk Clone.

hi Admin ...
So it won't run on any of my devices .... I am sorry to hear that ... I shall also stop recommending Hasleo when asked in future .. It used to work fine on Win7 when I installed .. I assume that my library of images is also junk now ...

Please also note that I accidentally or unknowingly added my email address as User name .. can you edit & just leave it as a name. I couldn't find any way to change it in my profile ...

Have you downloaded and installed the latest version of the HBS app?
I'm sure it will work fine to access your previous backups...
that's certainly been my experience as a happy user.

JD gave you some good advice. No point getting upset over obsolete software and if the newer version doesn't work then not much is lost.

BTW, even using various imaging programs, I always restore an image rather than do a clone since I'm more familiar with it and do have an extra backup of the source made at the same time. Takes a little more time to make the image rather than directly cloning but don't care.

You need to download and install the latest version to continue using Hasleo Backup Suite, which can access the backup images you generated previously. In addition, I have changed the username for you.

The ZIP file is the log file of HBS, used to help developers locate and resolve issues.

thanks for changing the name ...

I am currently deleting / uninstalling Hasleo .. and will find another app that does the same job but doesn't put a HIDDEN time limit nor any HIDDEN functional limitation on their app.
Your app is totally useless to laptop users / owners of which there must be many out there.
it will only be of use to Desktop owners who have the ability to add an extra drive to their system DIRECTLY to their Motherboards and since  its rare to find a motherboard with an extra m.2 slot ... I think even Desktop users might find it difficult to use ..

I think your response is a bit overdone. I will agree that they could make it a bit more obvious if a clone to a USB drive is not available. However, this is not a showstopper for laptops since you can always use the image method with a USB drive, which incidentally, for a backup method makes more sense than cloning.
Hasleo fills a void in free imaging programs that are harder to come by as time goes on such as with the loss of Reflect free and a lot of others advertise as free but the fine print puts time limits on the free use.
