As the Forum grows with the increasing popularity of the Hasleo Backup Suite, I would like to suggest that the @admin consider posting Forum Rules as the top pinned post in this subforum for members.
Many of us longtime members of many Forums know the importance of Forum Rules. Without them, new, and existing Forum members can claim that their posts did not violate any Forum Rules, so they should be allowed to post anything, regardless of content. We all know of the issues on other Forums where people have gotten way out of bounds "discussing" politics, religion, etc. Others post completely false information about a product or go completely off-topic. Some even become very abusive and hostile The list of abuses is enormous, including spam posts; hence, the reason that every Forum I frequent, about 12 per day, have Forum Rules to protect the company, and to protect its members in good standing.
Forum Rules would make it clear that Hasleo intends to protect its good name, and that their Forums are not available to be used for other than the purposes stated; for example, discussion politics, religion, race, etc. The stated purpose of these Forums is to respectfully discuss Hasleo products, not anything else.
I would be willing to undertake to prepare a draft set of Forum Rules for review by @admin and other members. I am guessing that the more senior members of this Forum, like @Froggie would accept, if asked, to assist in the review process.
I submit this for your consideration. Have a great day.

Dear Phil,
This is an excellent suggestion. Thank you. You are absolutely right that clear forum rules are essential for the long term healthy development of the community.
As we are genuinely short on time, we greatly appreciate your willingness to help draft the initial version. Please proceed with the preparation. Once completed, you can reply directly in this thread or send it to us via private message. At that point, we will invite senior members like @Froggie to participate in the review and discussion.
Thank you for your contribution. This benefits all of us.
Thank you for your reply. I am happy that the suggestion meets with your approval; and, I am happy to help here. Please allow me at least a few days, possibly a week, to prepare an initial draft. I will also comment on some features of this older Board software that might be abused. I don't know what you can do about those issues, but I will bring them to your attention because otherwise we should deal with those potential abuses in our Forum Rules if they cannot be changed in the Forum architecture.
My preference is NOT to create these Forum Rules for review in private messages. The Hasleo reputation should continue to be accountability and transparency. When I reply back to this topic with the first draft, all current Forum members should be able comment, if they wish. Clearly, more weight will be paid to the comments of the senior Forum members, of which I am not one ... yet.
When the drafts have been fine-tuned to meet the needs of these Forums, then I suggest that this entire topic can be archived, but available in an Archive of this subforum, for future new Forum members to review, so that they can see for themselves that the development of the Forum Rules was a collaborative effort by the Forum Administration and the-then current Forum members. It should be noted also that the Forum Rules can be amended in the future, if there is a consensus to do so. That would completely negate any potential criticism that the Forum Rules were created solely by Hasleo for its own purposes, and imposed "from above."
The new Forum Rules, once approved, should be pinned as the first post in this Forum.
So give me a few days, possibly a week, and I will see what I can draft.
Here is the first proposed draft of the Hasleo Forum Rules in .pdf format. I would welcome any and all suggestions and criticisms.
I would also like it if you could update my upload limit, which is currently restricted to 1 MB. I will exceed it with future uploads, if it is not a per post limit.
On behalf of the entire Hasleo team, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your outstanding contribution in drafting the forum rules. Your dedication and efforts are sincerely appreciated.
The draft you provided is comprehensive, well-structured, and reflects a deep understanding of our community's needs. It serves as an invaluable foundation for establishing a positive and well-organized environment for all our users. Your proactive involvement exemplifies the spirit of collaboration that we cherish.
We will now begin reviewing the draft internally and with other community moderators. Your work will undoubtedly form the core of our official forum guidelines.
Thank you once again for your invaluable support and for being such an essential part of the Hasleo community. We are truly fortunate to have members like you.

Looks good to me.
Personally, I would leave out point 5 or at least rephrase it somehow. You can't force someone to use proper English, it's not everyone's native language so there might be problems. We also had one or two members in the past that posted their questions in German. I agree that this is not ideal but I tried to help them anyway because I speak German, too.
The rating system is not very prominent in this board but I think that's fine. Preventing negative scoring might help but I wouldn't write this down as a forum rule. If the software allows it, it should be fine to use. If it doesn't, then there's no need to have a rule for it.
Rule 4 and 6 could be merged I guess, seems to be the same thing basically.
Rule 3 and 9 might also be merged, both are about piracy and/or copyright infringement.
Rule 2 and 11 are very similar, one is about spamming ads and the other is ads only.
Apart from that the rules seem to be a non-brainer and it goes without saying that everyone should have no problem with agreeing to them anyway.
Thank you for your feedback. I will revisit my first draft tomorrow, and provide a second draft. There were also some things I thought of overnight that should be included. I like a lot of your suggestions.
I do respectfully disagree about the rating system. What does a Negative-1 rating do? Why do we need it? I have been a regular on a dozen Forums for years. I have seen the personal vendettas that have developed between members. While I DO agree with the Rating option in general, it should be neutral or positive to prevent conflicting Forum members from trashing each others' rating reputation, in my opinion. For now, these Forums are not too busy, but as Hasleo software is adopted, there will be more and more members with all kinds of personal issues.
The best option would be just to remove the Negative -1 option; if not, I think the rule should stand.
Thanks again. I will create a second draft and post tomorrow. Have a great day.
Thank you for your kind comments. This is a "work-in-progress." I will post a second draft tomorrow. I would like as much feedback as possible so that the Forum Rules serve all of the Hasleo Forum Community members, present and future. This is not a rush job, but one that should be carefully considered.

Edit Reason: forgot something.
)
@admin,
I am running out of attachment space. If there is a Draft 3, I will have to upload it to my Google Drive so that you can access it.
I have attached a Draft 2 of the Forum Rules. I am most grateful for the feedback of @al3x. I have incorporated most of his suggestions.
This is, of course, just a starting point for further consideration, amendment, and review.
Now that we have a General Forum, I would like to suggest a "Welcome" topic, in which Hasleo Software welcomes new Forum members, and explains the purposes of Hasleo Software and the team's guiding principles, the importance Hasleo Software places on member contributions to this Forum, as well as the warm welcome that constructive ideas will receive.
Also we could include the Ranks and Rating information in the Welcome topic, eliminating the need for a separate topic on that.
I think that proposed topic should be the first pinned topic in the General Forum. The second pinned topic would be the Forum Rules, when modified and approved.
I could create a first rough draft of the "Welcome" topic, if you so wish.
Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to the Forum. Have a great day.
Thank you very much for drafting the second version of the forum rules and incorporating the feedback from @al3x. This draft is highly polished and serves as an excellent foundation for the next steps of review and finalization.
I fully support your proposal to create a "Welcome" topic. Integrating the company introduction, guiding principles, and member ranking information into a single pinned post is an ideal starting point for new members. The pinned order you suggested (Welcome topic first, followed by the Forum Rules) is also very logical.
We would be very pleased to have you draft the initial version of the "Welcome" topic. Your involvement and writing skills are invaluable to us.
Regarding the attachment space issue, feel free to upload the third draft to Google Drive and share the link here.
Once again, thank you for your outstanding contributions!
