Non-Lifetime support

If you do not purchase the lifetime free upgrade service, minor version upgrades (for example, from version 5.0 to version 5.1, ..., 5.9) are free, while major version upgrades require an upgrade fee (for example, from version 5.x to version 6.x). 

Please note that we only provide technical support and bug fixes for the latest version.

Sounds what I had expected... however, it would be nice to have some idea how long version 5 is expected to last.

I can't give you a specific timeframe, but V5 will keep running for you indefinitely because it's a perpetual license, it just doesn't include lifetime upgrade services.
