Can you confirm that the fix which was implemented in the test version of 5.5.2.1 dated Nov 22nd 2025 which made a huge improvement in the image checking speed (particularly to spinning HDD) has not made it into 5.5.2.2 ?
I have only done 1 image check so far, but it appears to be back to taking nearly 3 times as long to verify the image as it does to create it.

@admin,
I am confused by your reply to @pt58. I haven't tested HBSP again since last week. It is scheduled for two weeks from now. The HBSP Check Image time was greatly improved last week, as to compared to previous backup imaging I did with HBSP.
Are you stating that the enhancement has been withdrawn from the latest version? If so, may we ask why? Was it not reliably checking the image?
I am a proponent of transparency. I always wonder about software going backwards ...
I am very grateful for your participation in this Forum, and the attentiveness shown to user feedback.
Have a great weekend.
Best Regards,
Phil

As They have said, just because one user sees a performance increase does not mean other System scenarios may see the same thing. You were nice enough to "beta" test their original response... your experience does not make it a full distribution release.
Be patient... it may eventually get there.
PS- the software is not going backward, it's moving forward at a controlled testing pace which includes regression testing as well.

@garioch7,
To put it simply, our development approach is as follows:
1. Major updates are consolidated and integrated into the Trunk.
2. Minor bug fixes are addressed and released quickly through independent Branches.
Since the Trunk incorporates multiple new features and optimizations (including improvements in image check performance), the scope of changes is relatively extensive. As a result, it must undergo more comprehensive and longer testing to ensure overall stability and reliability.
Please rest assured that the performance improvements you mentioned remain part of the new version plan and have not been canceled, they are simply awaiting thorough testing alongside other updates. For minor issue fixes, we will continue to strive for prompt releases via Branches.
Have a great weekend.
Best regards,
