Documentation - PDF-based Feature Compendium
#1
Greetings all! While listening to documentation needs here at the Forum, and balancing that with some of my own needs, I have decided to create an all encompassing, PDF-based Feature Compendium for the Hasleo Backup Suite.  I'm in discussions with Hasleo on how best to offer an on-going, updated version of this document to the user community... that's the difficult part as the on-line documentation changes quite often.  We'll keep working on this project and try and bring it to some sort of conclusion.

In the meantime, the "point-in-time" version of this document (as of today) is called Hasleo Backup Suite - Tutorials located on my GOOGLE Drive  Feel free to use the title's active link to download this current version until we figure out how to go public with a fully supported version.

Hope this helps!

Love the screenshots of every section. Very clear and easy to follow, kinda like a handbook or manual that was still missing for HBS.
Maybe you could add an index at the beginning to faster jump to the individual sections.

*Edit: Ah, I see it already has a PDF index built into. Nice!

@Froggie,

Thank you so much for expending so much of your time and expertise to create a downloadable .pdf version of the HBS Online Help Tutorials.  HBS users have been asking for that for some time.

I commend your initiative!  You are a tremendous asset to the Hasleo Forum.  Thank you.

Have a great weekend.  As they say in Nova Scotia: "you done good." Wink

Regards,
Phil

This tutorial is great and will be very helpful to newbies. There are two things I struggled with when first using HBS.

1. Entering network credentials requires that the username consist of the PC name as well as the userID, e.g., MyPC\[email protected]. Other backup programs only require [email protected]. This should be clarified on page 67.

2. A section on use of the Emergency Disk or environment in the boot menu covering the PE Network Manager under Free Tools. This allows the connection to a Wi-Fi network. This is essential if the target or backup is on a network device.

Also, add to the Mount/Unmount Image, page 53, that using the Mount as writeable will allow access to protected file in the image.
