Request For Assistance
#1
I am a newbe. I used to use Macrium Reflect - It was easy - just image a drive and then upload incremental changes.
I just want to know if I have to do all three procedures to back up a drive

1. system restore backup
2. disk partition backup
3. file backup

If this is the case - which one should i post incremental changes too?

There are plenty of Youtube videos showing you HOW but none to tell you which are necessary.
Thanks -- - - I really need to back up my stuff

@Chief Vic,

Welcome to the Hasleo Backup Forum.  You posted in another Forum, so I moved your post to the correct Forum.

This Forum is currently in process of drafting Hasleo Backup Suite Frequently-Asked Questions Topic (HBS FAQs).  You can find that Topic pinned and locked in this Forum.  There are already five posts in that Topic/Thread, with many more to come.  I only started that Topic in the last few months.

I am drafting those FAQ posts, with the assistance of the Forum Team and another Forum member.  The draft I am working on now will address Disk/Partition Backup vs. System Backups.  The next one will address File Backups.

If you want to "just image a drive and then upload incremental changes", then the Disk/Partition option is the one to choose.  You should select all of the Partitions on the Drive by creating a Task to do that.  Run that Task, and your entire drive contents will be backed up.  Then you can select, by opening the Task, to run Full, Incremental, or Differential backups, or combination thereof, on a schedule you create if you want done automatically.

All of these basic questions will be answered in upcoming FAQs.  This is a relatively new project that I volunteered to take on.  A lot of YouTube videos and Help Files seem to expect the user to have a level of knowledge that some of us don't have.

In the interim, ask away, by posting in your new "Thread" here.  You will find that the HBS Online Help is great for learning how to navigate the menus and options.  As well, the Hasleo Team has created many great Articles and Tutorials.  Just click the link I included.

Welcome again.  I am also a former Macrium customer.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

@Chief Vic,

System Backup refers to backing up all partitions required for Windows startup, such as the system partition, boot partition, and recovery partition. This is similar to Feature 1 of Macrium Reflect in the screenshot below.

Disk/Partition Backup is to back up the disks and partitions you select; you can select multiple disks and partitions for backup. This is similar to Macrium Reflect's "Image this disk..." feature.

File Backup is to back up the files (folders) you select, for example, your documents, photos, etc. This is similar to Feature 2 of Macrium Reflect in the screenshot below.

System Backup backs up all partitions related to the operating system startup, while Disk/Partition Backup backs up the selected disks or partitions. Both of these back up the entire contents of the selected drives, whereas File Backup only backs up the selected files (folders) rather than the whole drive. System Backup and Disk/Partition Backup are block‑level backups, while File Backup is file‑level, so System Backup and Disk/Partition Backup are faster than file‑level backup.

You should create different backup types according to your own needs. We recommend that users use the "System Backup" feature to back up the Windows operating system, and use the "Disk/Partition Backup" feature to back up other data partitions.

Once you create a backup task, it will be displayed on the program's "Home" page. You can click the "Actions" button on the task bar to pop up a menu, then click "Backup" and perform a Full, Differential, or Incremental backup as needed.
