Hasleo Backup Suite V6.0.1.0 Beta Released!
#11
@al3x and @Mustang,

Thanks to you both for your suggestions. We’ll launch the tcpipreg service inside HBS and check whether PENetwork starts successfully to decide whether a restart is needed.

Have a nice day!

In addition to the problem-free setup, making ISOs, EDs, booting mentioned in my post above about 6.0.1.0 B, I can also confirm that after mounting an image made on a different computer, I can now access - read, copy, whatever, - folders and files in that image that I could not even see before.

This means that for instance, I can travel with an image of my wife's computer and get in to its contents (C-users-(wife's name) etc). Big bonus to me at least and confirmation of a new feature mentioned in the first post above.

So kudos to Hasleo.

Does the 6.0 beta Emergency Disk only support standard single partition USB flash drive?

@Keith Weisshar,

According to the HBS FAQs Topic Post 9, you can have multiple partitions on a large Hasleo Emergency Disk USB flash drive.  The first partition needs to be 32 GB or smaller, and formatted to FAT32 to ensure that it is bootable.  Please consult Post 9 for a full discussion of Hasleo Emergency Disks.

See these comments by @admin, quoted at the bottom of that post: https://www.easyuefi.com/forums/thread-4...l#pid13234.

I am not aware of any changes with Version 6 affecting the accuracy of that information.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

@Keith Weisshar,

V6 still only supports standard single partition USB flash drives. As @garioch7 pointed out, to support multiple partitions, you need to use tools like WinToUSB.

Have a nice day!

Holger just informed me that there's a new version of PENM available: v0.59.B13
This is the first update in almost 8 years.

I tested the version against the current v6.0.1.0 beta and the error message on starting PENM is now gone. In my tests everything worked as expected, so this looks good to me.
Besides that start-up fix, there were a couple of other fixes and changes for PENM, but I don't know exactly what was changed.

So maybe - after some more testing - the new version could be included in the next HBS?

BTW: Since there was no changelog provided (*Edit: Actually, there is one here) and the software is written in AutoIt3, I compared the source code of v12 and v13 and let AI summarize the main differences.
Turned out pretty nice:

@al3x

Thank you very much for letting us know of version B13 of PENetwork. I tried it and it is working very well. Not only did it solve the error message on first start, it was also updated to show only one copy of the running program when there are multiple start requests.

@al3x,

That’s really good news. Big Grin

We will incorporate the new version of PENM into V6 and modify the code accordingly to adapt to the new PENM.

Have a nice day!
