Hasleo Backup Suite V5.5.2.1 Released!
...a slight correction to the above.

With REFLECT, when dealing with MANUAL verification, as mentioned above, if only the selected segment is chosen, only that segment will be verified.  If that option is not chosen, the entire image chain UP TO THE SELECTED SEGMENT will be verified, not including any segment beyond the selected segment.

@Froggie, your explanation clarifies why Macrium Reflect performs image verification faster than Hasleo Backup Suite after backup completion. When full image verification is selected, Hasleo Backup Suite checks all existing backup segments, whereas Macrium Reflect always checks only the newly created backup segment.

@Froggie,

I don't do differential or incremental backup disk/partition images.  I don't do scheduled Full or any other kind of scheduled images.  As such, I never see that check box you have in your screenshot.

My Full manually-initiated Disk/Partition backup images are of ALL partitions.  Macrium Reflect is verifying the entire image I just created from a Source internal SSD to a Target internal HDD.

If you have any doubts, head over the Macrium Reflect Forums, and ask @jphughan, their resident non-Macrium-employee expert, about what MR8 would verify.  I would be most interested if you would share what he says.  I have been a member of their Forums for years, though not very active in posting, but I visit the MR Forums almost daily, as you will see from my "Visits" stats on the MR Forums.  I use the same name there: garioch7.

My testing results are valid on my computer with the parameters I have described above, and in earlier posts.   I will be doing a manual Full Disk/Partition backup image on this coming Friday afternoon, using Macrium Reflect 8 (MR8).  I will carefully note the image creation time and the image verification time, and post a screenshot that demonstrates I have no check boxes checked, because there are none there.

There does seem to be a reluctance to repeat testing with MY parameters so that they can be verified.  So far, I have seen no replies that exactly duplicate my imaging parameters, so we are comparing applies to oranges.

On following Fridays, I will also records the Easeus image creation and check image times, and then a week later, carefully note the HBSP times, with photos of the disk structure and screen shots from both apps.

The purpose of my posts is NOT to disparage HBSP, with which I am pleased, but to submit some real-world testing results for consideration by the Hasleo Team.  I mean NO disrespect to them, or anyone else.  I have been informed that such testing is welcome here.  I seek to contribute, not criticize.  HBSP can only continue to evolve and be enhanced when there is meaningful, empirical tests done on how the software performs for a multitude of customers.

Thank you for this continuing discussion.  It demonstrates to me that Hasleo Software is committed to enhancing their products by engaging with their customers.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

@Froggie,

First off, I have to apologize to you.  It was not courteous or professional of me that ask you to join the Macrium Forums to prove MY point that Macrium Reflect, as I have it configured, with the "Auto-Verify Image" turned on, is verifying my newly-created entire Full Disk/Partition Image.  It is no excuse, but I was getting frustrated because it seemed to me that my testing protocol was being questioned ...

That is NO excuse!  You were the person, with your posts in the Wilders Security Forums, who induced me to purchase HBSP to finally replace my MR8, when Windows eventually breaks it.  I thank you for getting the word out about HBSP.  I sincerely apologize. [Image: sad.gif]

Secondly, I went to the Macrium Site and looked for the answer, which is what I should have done in the first place.  I have been a member of that Forum since 2015, and have 4.3K visits.  I don't contribute a lot, but I read everything of interest to me.

Here is an excerpt from the Macrium Reflect Knowledge Base publication:

"Auto Verify Image
When this option is enabled, Macrium Reflect backup files will be verified immediately after creation. This helps ensure that no corruption of data occurred while the image was being written to the destination. Enabling this option can considerably increase the amount of time taken to create the image:"

Once again, I apologize.  I am old (73), and I get cranky when I perceive that others conclude that my testing protocol is inaccurate.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil
