Feature REQUESTS
(10-27-2026, 09:51 AM)Backuper Wrote: Manually input encryption password at runtime

I know I can save a password in HBS, BUT that means that if someone finds my backup AND has access to my PC somehow, they can simply read my secret password ...

Macrium Reflect has this option.  The way it works is that instead of keying the actual password, you key $INPUT$  (or similar) and as soon as the backup starts running, a popup requests the encryption password.   This is useful, for example, if creating an off-site backup which in theory could be found by someone else ...

Thank you for your suggestion. We have added it to the improvement list for future versions and will evaluate and consider it at the appropriate time.

When in the Recovery Environment (ED or Boot Menu), the Browser menu from the selections with the Import/Export Tasks should include Network. It shows Home, Libraries, and This PC, but does not show Network. To access a network drive/folder the network address needs to be entered in the File name box. This is not obvious.

@Bespoken,

Hello, and thank you for reporting this issue.

In the WinPE Recovery Environment, the navigation pane of the file dialog typically does not show the "Network" icon. This is because WinPE is a streamlined system designed for recovery tasks, and some graphical navigation features have been removed by default to keep it lightweight.

At present, remote shares can only be accessed by using PENetwork to mount them as a local drive. We will look into whether we can implement our own file dialog that supports network access in a future version.

Have a nice weekend.

Hello,

what about small improvement concerning automatically created names for a new task/filenames, so that in the string of numbers creating date, some dividing singns would appear for better readibility?

@sulp,

Welcome to the Hasleo Forums!  I think your suggestion has merit, but I don't know about the technical difficulties that might be involved.

I personally would like to see that improvement implemented in a future release, if it is feasible ...

Once again, welcome.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

@sulp,

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the readability of the date numbers in automatically generated new task names/filenames. Adding separators to the date string would indeed improve readability, and we understand and recognize this improvement direction.

This improvement is not too difficult technically, and we will optimize it in a future release.

We also thank @garioch7 for the support.

Have a nice day!
