License Clarification.

I would like to know if rescue.iso created with a one-year license also expires after a year, or is that iso valid forever?

I am not aware of any one year license other than the one-off "give-away" thing, but if there is one (I wouldn't buy it), I would be afraid of the Rescue.iso being "time bombed" as well.

There is no buyable one-year license, licenses are perpetual. See here for all available buying options.
If you buy a license this will be valid forever, for both the installed version and also created WinPE rescue media.

Giveaway licenses on the other hand expire after one year which means the installed version as well as created WinPE rescue media will fall back to the free version.

@al3x's explanation is completely correct.

I have recently purchased the Hasleo Backup Suite Home Family licence, which allows installation on up to 5 PCs.
I have a couple of questions regarding the licensing.
So far, I have only installed it on 2 PCs.
Given that the same key is used for each PC (up to 5), is there a way to see how many times the key has been used because, in due course, I will probably forget which PCs I have used the key on?
Also, I understand that if in the future, if I needed to transfer a licence to a new PC due to hardware failure, for example, I would need to contact support to release the key so it could be used on the replacement PC.
Is it necessary to make a note of the Hardware ID which is generated on each PC, so that support would know which machine to release the key from?
I hope you can understand my questions. I'm just trying to anticipate any future issues which may arise.
Thanks

This, right here, is why I HATE activation tied to hardware, or with any form of "time bomb" especially on "mission critical" software like backup software. It just causes confusion and problems down the road, every time.

As long as the "rescue media/iso" is unaffected, to buy me time for the "red tape" of getting the license fixed later, I can live with it though, if the price is right. I also work from the assumption that the company I bought the software from will eventually sell out to a new, hostile company, close completely, have server (licensing/web page) outages or some other situation that makes them unreachable.

They almost always do:
Slysoft > RedFox > poof/gone.
PowerQuest Drive Image > Norton Ghost = License gone.
...and on and on and on.

Hasleo has said that they will release keys upon request.  Since the paid version was only released less than a month ago, I am unaware of any reports in this Forum of a license release being requested.  Setting up user controlled key management system whereby the user can activate and deactivate license keys is an expensive undertaking, but IF and WHEN this does become an issue, I am confident that Hasleo will implement solutions.

For now, to me at least, this concern over the current licensing mechanism is without basis because there are no documented instances where users were disadvantaged.  Hasleo must protect its paid products.  All companies do that, one way or another.  I don't think that discussing possible "what if" scenarios is productive.

@Dude Guyman, you have repeatedly made similar posts in this topic.  My respectful advice is that if you are so unhappy with Hasleo Backup, you should find another backup program that will meet your rather unique requirements and demands.

These are just my opinions.  Have a great day.

Phil
