Well, we will not return. We use different Veeam Software since ages! I used Hasleo since many years as well on my personal Windows 10 Enterprise system but now it's no longer supported and that's a bad idea imo.

We really considered buying Hasleo Backup Software and/or DiskClone for our servers but it has too many bugs unfortunately. Maybe Veeam has not so many features in the Workstation variant but it is rock solid.

Regarding FileClone, we don't see the value of this feature since Windows already provides file copying functionality and command-line tools. Furthermore, and it is impossible for us to implement all the suggestions provided by users in a timely manner.

Well, FileClone is not a feature of Windows, maybe Robocopy as a tool. I remember that Computer Associates ArcServe Software had a similar feature => reliable and schedulable (never used this software again, since we left Novell NetWare), but it would be a unique feature, that to my knowledge no other software supports and especially not Windows. It is about Cloning a complete FileSystem with or without permission via a handy GUI and not via Robocopy. That's a difference.

And yes I know that not all suggestions provided by users can be implemented in a timely manner, but I asked for this a long time ago already and I really don't see much value in DiskClone at all currently without a FileClone feature. That would be unique and valuable for our company.

What are the differences between Robocopy and the copy command provided by Windows itself?

Well, we were looking for a backup software, that has a handy GUI to create jobs to clone files from one partition to another (source partition remains untouched), which is reliable and where jobs can be scheduled easily including job log.

Copy and Robocopy are not reliable, especially when it comes down to permissions, where files may be skipped and both are not very handy to use.

I am a command line guy that grew up with MS-DOS and even former home computers, so I am used to it, but on the other hand we are in 2025 now and doing file clones with basic command line tools is somewhat outdated!
