@garioch7,
Thanks for providing the test results. Any plans to test incremental or differential backups? Have a nice weekwnd! Best regards,

@admin,
No, no plans. I have never done anything but new weekly full Disk/Partition Task backups of all partitions on my OS drive, where my data is also located. My changing data files are copied to Proton Drive automatically, and I also copy them manually to an internal drive, so I really have no reason to use Incremental/Differential backups. Perhaps someone who uses incremental/differential backups, system backups, can do some testing and report their results. I feel kind of lonely being the only consistent tester here ... ![]() Have a great day. Regards, Phil

That's because there's no need for constant testing, when the changelogs don't indicate anything that would warrant a comparison test. Now if someone asks me to compare the speeds for A vs HBS I will do a test, as was the case with Macrium Reflect X. Otherwise they are needless, as indicated by the fact that the numbers never really change on your results.

Personally, I see my cycle of testing to be a benchmark. I would submit that it happens that when software is enhanced or bugs fixed, something else can be inadvertently broken. My ongoing testing would reveal an unanticipated HBS performance loss/impact.
Secondly, people considering the Hasleo Backup Suite are naturally very interested in how it performs against the competition. Having up-to-date comparisons of HBS against both MR8 and ETBH would be very informative for them. I think the number of times this topic has been viewed attests to that. I know that if I was trying to decide between HBS and ETBH, I would choose HBS, based on the impartial test results I provide. Of course, should the Forum Administrator should decide that my testing is not relevant, I would cease testing and posting. Have a great day. Respectfully submitted. Regards, Phil

Hello everyone,
Thank you to @garioch7, @n8chavez, and all other users who participated in the discussion for your candid and constructive input. Regarding the necessity of ongoing testing, I have carefully read the arguments from both sides. @garioch7 raised a very important point: when new features are added or bugs are fixed, some unintended issues may be inadvertently introduced. I fully agree with this. Continuous benchmarking helps us detect unexpected performance changes in a timely manner, which is crucial to ensuring that Hasleo Backup Suite consistently maintains a high standard. At the same time, I also fully understand @n8chavez's perspective. Performing tests only when users request specific comparisons is indeed a more pragmatic and efficient approach. Both viewpoints have their merits, and their common ground is this: we need more voices and more data from our community. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to invite all users to share your own performance test results comparing Hasleo Backup Suite with its competitors. Whether it is a full backup, incremental backup, differential backup, or simply your day‑to‑day speed experience, all contributions are highly valuable. It is also worth emphasizing that regularly refreshing test data serves another important purpose: it allows more new users to see at a glance how Hasleo Backup Suite performs relative to competing products. The view count of this thread alone already demonstrates the strong interest in performance comparisons. Updated data over time can help new users who are choosing a backup solution make a more informed decision. We encourage everyone to speak with data and facts, and to foster a professional, pragmatic, and mutually respectful discussion environment. Every user's test sharing is a valuable contribution to our community. We look forward to seeing more great test data! Best regards, |
