I bought Hasleo Disk Clone last year but now need something to replace Macrium Reflect 8 for creating system images.
Hasleo Backup Suite Home with free lifetime upgrades looks like it will do the job but I want to check before buying:-
- What exactly free lifetime upgrades entails.. How long it actually lasts?
- Is it truly perpetual or are free upgrades only for the life of the current version?
- Does Backup Suite now incorporate all functions of Hasleo Disk Clone? If so, will Disk Clone be surplus to requirements and should I uninstall it before installing Backup Suite or is there any benefit to having both installed?
I’ve already been bitten by Macrium Reflect 8 perpetual licence version, which no longer functions properly. Paramount software’s answer is buy an expensive subscription to the latest version. I don’t want to get into a debate about business models and subscriptions, etc. Subs are ok for a business etc, but for me, a retiree on extremely limited income this is just not feasible.
Thanks in advance.

1. It lasts as long as the entire product does.
2. Lifetime... all versions, all upgrades.
3. Same features as FREE Clone. The PAID version of clone may include advanced features. Use their comparison chart to see the difference.

Thanks for clarifying this Froggie.
Good to know lifetime upgrades is all versions, not just version 5.

@ zx81,
Welcome to Hasleo and the Hasleo Forums. The lifetime upgrades plan is the one I selected as well. I got it the first day it went on sale, back on October 20, 2025. The enhancements since then have been very impressive. The Hasleo Support is the best.
Our Forum Administrator is a member of the Hasleo Team, and s/he is here every day, weekends included, checking for feedback and replying to questions.
As a former MR customer, as was I, you might be interested in my tri-weekly testing results that I have been doing for months now, comparing MR8.1 to Easeus Todo Backup Home, and Hasleo Backup Suite Pro. By the way, the speeds and image sizes of Hasleo Backup Free are the same as the Pro version, but the Pro version has a few more features, like running on the Enterprise version of Windows, etc.
The latest testing results can be found here: https://www.easyuefi.com/forums/thread-4...l#pid13595
Welcome again. Have a great day.
Regards,
Phil

I cannot be sure, but I believe this is the exact reason why most people are here and started using Hasleo Backup Suite. Paramount Software's decision with their 10.x Reflect licenses was just wrong. People needed a reliable and fairly priced alternative, so they came here. I know that's why I started using it.
@Froggie is entirely correct regarding the license features. As for me, I went with the lifetime professional version. I like using command lines, and the pro version enables that feature. Also, the free version does not allow for data exclusion when imaging.
Let any of us know if we can be of any further help.

Yep, Macrium's "perpetual" licenses were only for the current versions, always requiring an upgrade cost for version changes unless the current version was purchased within about 90-days of the version upgrade. Lifetime perpetual licenses are very predictable in terms of cost (thank you, Hasleo)!
Hasleo also offers a Macrium type version only license at a reduced cost (HOME @$29.95, Pro @$39.95) if things are really tough.

Thank you all for your replies.
Yes, the licenses for all Hasleo versions are permanent. However, unless you have purchased the "lifetime free upgrade" service, you will not be eligible for a free upgrade to the next major version (e.g., from V5 to V6).
Thanks.

Yes, true. But I came here because the service is outstanding and because HBS is faster, simpler and just better than what I had been using for 20+ years.

@Epictetus,
Thank you very much for your kind words! 🙏
We are truly delighted to hear that you chose Hasleo Backup Suite because it stands out on its own merits (faster, simpler, and better) rather than simply because other products, such as Macrium Reflect, are too expensive. That means a great deal to us. Although Hasleo Backup Suite is still young, building a truly reliable, efficient backup tool that users genuinely appreciate has always been what our team has been striving for.
We’re also very glad that Hasleo Backup Suite has provided a better experience for someone with over 20 years of backup experience like yourself. Your recognition is incredibly encouraging, and we will continue to work hard to make the product even better. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
Have a nice day!
Best regards,
