HBS Software Installers | Difference?
#1
Question
Good morning,
I am an experienced admin and have recently migrated my home PC backups to HBS.  My previous backup software degraded to a subscription license model, which I can't stand.

I purchased the lifetime HBS license for 5 clients and has been installed for several months on two modern PC's, and working reasonably well.  File and Image backups are to a local Synology NAS and the file-backups are cloud-synced from there.

One question...
Other than the obvious, what is the difference between the x86/x64 HBS "Free" and "Trial" software installers?  I see they are only a few bytes difference in size.  I have been using the "Trial" installer for my paid license installation and updates.  Does it make a difference for licensed installations?

Smile Many thanks and regards,

@jordanac265,

Welcome to the Hasleo Forum, and thank you for choosing Hasleo Backup Suite. We're glad to hear it's working well in your Synology NAS environment.

The Free and Trial installers share the same core files; only the configuration files differ, which is why the installer sizes are almost identical.

Both the Free and Trial installers can be activated with a valid paid license. Once activated, they become the paid edition. Therefore, using the Trial installer to install and update your paid license is perfectly fine and will not adversely affect your licensed version.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Have a nice weekend!
