Cannot get either Pre or Post commands to work
#1
I've recently had to move from Macrium Reflect due to the psmounterex.sys issue. I was pleased to discover Hasleo Backup as it appeared to do all that I needed. However I am having problems getting either Pre or Post-Commands to work. I have created a small test backup with a post command to run a simple test .bat file to pop-up a text message. I can see that the batch file is triggered, but nothing happens and no backup is created. Hasleo Backup then hangs and Cancel does not work. No log file is created.

I also wanted to use a Pre-Command to switch on an external HDD before backing up to it, but have read that this is not possible at the moment?

Hello,

Please give this version a try:
https://www.easyuefi.com/backup-software...260615.exe

If it still fails, please refer to the image below to save the log file and send it to us.

Best regards,

Thank you for your prompt response. I have tried the new version on 3 PCs with the same result. I have attached 2 logs, one  with a simple post-command and the other without.

Judging from the log file, the command-line program does not seem to have terminated normally. Please provide us with your Test.bat file for testing, as well as the detailed settings for the Command. Thanks.

I've found the problem. Adding 'Exit' at the end of the batch file terminates it properly and now doesn't cause Hasleo Backup to hang. Thank you for your assistance.

It would be good if the Pre-process command could work with an offline backup. E.g. running a batch file to turn on an external USB HDD before backing up to it.

Glad to hear that!

This version below should be able to do what you mentioned. Have you tried it? Make sure your batch is working properly.

If you run into any issues, please provide a new log file.

I have tried version 260615 with a simple batch file (with exit!). Nothing happens, and I get 'The task folder is not available' error 0x076B015400000003.

I've just spotted the Event Trigger in the backup schedule menu! Presumably this is what I should be using? Will test it and report back.
