Update error involving Smart App Control
#11
Besides Smart App Control, Defender's Controlled Folder Access may also cause HBS to malfunction, as it can prevent the program from writing to drives. For example, users may encounter an "Access is denied" error when creating an emergency USB drive, and multiple users have reported this issue recently.

I updated to the latest stable version of Hasleo Backup Suite with Smart App Control enabled. I encountered the same problem as in my first post. There must be a difference between downloading the .exe file to install it and updating directly from within Hasleo Backup.

Yes, antivirus software and Windows Security Center can cause issues, but there are options, like exclusions, to avoid problems. With Smart App Control, however, there is no way to tweak settings to resolve issues. It's either activated or deactivated.

I just updated to Hasleo Backup Suite V5.9.2.4 with Smart App Control enabled. I didn't run into any issues.

So, I'm going to give Smart App Control a chance.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear V5.9.2.4 is working fine with Smart App Control enabled. Antivirus software behavior can be very strange and unpredictable sometimes, so don't worry too much about it at times.
