I have been using/evaluating your software for a few months after veeam let me down when i needed it the most, All has been going well on the backup side of things (luckily I've not needed to restore as yet), I had the software setup to do I full backup on a Sunday With 1 full backup image retention, and incremental Monday through Saturday in order to stop the incremental getting out of hand, on both my laptop and gaming PC.
I updated to V6.0.2 last night before bed and when i woke this morning I noticed the backup did not take place, it was telling me my network drive was unavailable (at least I believe that was what it stated, the red text was quite small on my laptop and I was still waking up lol).
The drive was indeed fully accessible and as I was pushed for time and the laptop is running okay I figured I would just delete the task and set it back up quickly before leaving.
It now says that the free version only supports one schedule when trying to set up the incremental after setting up the full, Is this as intended? My other PC running 5.9.4 has no such limitation, As I couldn't see it in the changelog, and the main page for HBS only has improved by the scheduling section. I thought i'd drop by and ask.

Hi and welcome to the Hasleo forums!
I can't tell you for sure what limitations were added to the free version between V5 and V6. But I quickly checked V6 and you're right, there seems to be a new restriction that limits the schedule to one entry.
I'm sure @admin (Hasleo staff), who is very active at this forum, can provide more details on the changes that were introduced with the start of V6. As it's currently the weekend and also because of timezone differences, you might have to wait a little longer for an answer, though.
What you could do in the meantime is reinstall the older version and reconfigure your schedule. If you then update to V6 again, that schedule should still work. This is only a temporary solution though, changes to that schedule would always require a downgrade first.
Of course you can also upgrade to the Home edition which doesn't have any of those limitations. Currently there's a Halloween offer (not for Family packs, though), maybe this would be an option for you?
Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. I did downgrade back to 5.9.2 I thought it was 5.9.4 but nine two was what was installed. I checked the offer out even with the discount it would be still hard for me to justify spending £82 plus any potential exchange fees involved on software this close to christmas especially in the current climate.
That's not to say I don't buy software, I do, however tend to buy it once I’ve found it useful and/or reliable. I backed up religiously with veeam error free, only for a complete failure when it came to a bare metal restore. This was recommended as a replacement and it was working well until now. I would of though it would of made it into the changelog as it kind of cripples the software.
I am more for lifetime licences over the current subscription epidemic, but over the past 20+ years I’ve come to learn the hard way that 'lifetime' licences don't always work out that way.
I am very grateful for checking on my behalf though, I thought maybe the install bugged out a little, or at least that is what I was hoping.
I can understand your caution. I am biased, so you may ignore what I say. Hasleo has been in business since 2014. They have been open and transparent with their user community, to the point that Hasleo even has a public post that will be kept updated. Please see the Hasleo Backup Suite - Frequently-Asked Questions Topic, Post 3.
The Hasleo Backup Suite (HBS) is their primary focus these days, although they also keep the other programs in their portfolio updated regularly. HBS is quickly and deservedly gaining market acceptance in the last year or two as a major competitor in the home backup market. Why would they abandon all of that?
I have a lifetime license, with free upgrades, that I purchased when the paid versions went on sale back in October 2025. I personally have absolute confidence that Hasleo will continue to grow and thrive, if they continue as they have begun. As a member of the Forum Team, I am aware of many "private" discussions, all of which lead me to one inescapable conclusion: Hasleo is committed to its users and its products. It is not a company that is looking to sell itself for a profit nor does it intend to introduce a subscription model.
Hasleo has a proven track record of frequent regular updates, quick and competent user/customer support, and the program is constantly being enhanced. Their prices are very competitive.
Over my years with computers since 1988, I have purchased a variety of backup programs. In my opinion, HBS wins hands down, and it is only getting better. You may not be aware, but I have also been doing tri-weekly comparisons of Macrium Reflect, Version 8, Easeus Todo Backup Home, and the current version of HBS for months now. You can see my latest results here. I have been completely impartial, and will continue to be. This provides me with factual data to support my conclusion that HBS is the best.
You are free to decide, since it is your computer. I encourage you to browse through the HBS Forum, and see for yourself how quickly the Hasleo Team responds to user issues and fixes them. I have seen that nowhere else, and I am a member of many Forums.
I respectfully submit this for your consideration. Have a great day.
Welcome to the Hasleo forums, and thank you for raising your questions and concerns.
Yes, the V6 free version now limits users to one schedule entry, whereas V5.9.4 did not enforce this restriction. This was an intentional adjustment in V6, and it is the only new restriction we added in V6 on existing free-version features. We understand that this affects workflows like yours, where you need separate full and incremental backup schedules on multiple machines, and it is indeed a real inconvenience.
Regarding your concerns about lifetime licenses and the subscription model, I would like to respond point by point.
1. We have always used a perpetual license model. We have done so for over ten years, and we currently have no plans to adopt a subscription model. This is not a new marketing statement; it is how Hasleo has operated for more than a decade.
2. Before Hasleo Backup Suite had a paid edition, we relied for many years on revenue from our other software products to sustain its development. As more competitors launched products similar to our older products, and as we devoted all our efforts to Hasleo Backup Suite, our financial situation has also not been optimistic.
3. Software maintenance and development require funding. A model with relatively few restrictions in the free version and a low-priced paid version does face real pressure, especially under the current global economic situation. The pressure this model puts on us is no less than the pressure the poor economic situation puts on you. We are not asking for sympathy; we are explaining why the V6 scheduling restriction exists.
4. Even if we were ever forced to adopt a subscription model in the future, users who purchase the lifetime free-upgrade edition now can rest completely assured that the lifetime free-upgrade edition they purchased will not become invalid. This is our commitment.
5. We believe the key question is whether our current model, with few restrictions in the free version and a low-priced paid version, can allow Hasleo to remain sustainable. If all users believe the free version already meets their needs and are unwilling to pay, that is the biggest difficulty preventing the current model from being sustainable.
6. Overall, because our prices are low and the free version has relatively few restrictions, we still have room to avoid a subscription model by adjusting prices and feature restrictions. Therefore, I believe that purchasing the lifetime free-upgrade edition now is the best option.
I hope this gives you a clear answer regarding the specific V6 changes and the lifetime license question.

I too am a relatively new user of the free version, and I too have two schedule entries in each of my backup tasks. My need is to run a full backup every Monday and an incremental on the other days. So this change is a step backwards for me.
I don't rule out purchasing a licence some time in the future when I'm fully comfortable with HBS. But removing functionality from the free version strikes me as a practice which doesn't match with my high regard for Hasleo's principles so far. By all means add new features which are only available in the paid versions, but don't reduce functionaility in the free version after people have already committed to it.
Having said that, thank you to Hasleo for what appears so far to be a fine product, but I'm not looking forward to telling the people to whom I've recommended the free version of HBS that its functionality is going backwards. This policy opens the door to Hasleo removing even more functionality in subsequent updates, so the free product becomes harder to commit to.
Thank you for your candid feedback. I understand your concern.
You are right that the one-schedule limit in the V6 free version does cause real inconvenience for workflows like yours, and I am sorry for that. For your use case, you can still achieve a similar result within a single schedule by using the “Perform a full backup after a specified number of backups” option. I suggest testing it to see whether it meets your needs.
As I mentioned earlier, the free version has very few restrictions, and the paid version remains modestly priced. At the same time, ongoing software development and maintenance require stable investment, and our other products are facing greater competitive pressure. This is the difficulty we are currently facing. Free versions of mainstream backup software on the market all impose restrictions on basic features. For example, Macrium Reflect Free did not offer incremental backups, and AOMEI's free version does not offer differential backups. Hasleo has only moved a small number of advanced and convenience features into the paid scope, and we have already been quite generous to free users. On the other hand, we also have the right to adjust the feature limitations of the free version and the pricing of the paid version in line with product development needs.
I also understand your concern about recommending Hasleo Backup Suite to others. That trust matters a great deal to us, and I am sorry for putting you in an awkward position.
Thank you for your continued support. And have a nice weekend!
