This tutorial will show you how to create Windows To Go from Windows system backup image file produced by Hasleo Backup Suite with Hasleo WinToUSB, mainly including the following aspects:
Simply put, Windows To Go (WTG) refers to installing a full-featured Windows onto a USB drive and then booting Windows from that USB drive, which was originally released with Windows 8 as a feature of Windows 8 Enterprise Edition. This feature continued to be available in the early release of Windows 10, but Microsoft announced in May 2019 that it would no longer be available in subsequent Windows versions, so the feature was removed in Windows 10 1909 and Windows 11.
As an enterprise feature of Windows, this feature is only available in the Enterprise Edition of Windows 8/10, and we can only use it to install Windows 8/10 Enterprise Edition to a USB drive. Since Microsoft no longer offers this feature, when we talk about Windows To Go now, we usually mean using a third-party software to install Windows to a USB drive, which is what we call portable Windows. For more information about Windows To Go, please refer to: What is Windows To Go (WTG)?
